He’s performed in front of crowds as large as 8000 for Nova100 at the Docklands precinct and has been teaching DJs how to play within Pulse DJs Melbourne since he was 18 years of age.

With 15 years of musical experience, Nathan has progressed through this industry achieving great success. Nathan began his music career at a very young age. He has played jazz and improvisational piano for over 9 years.

Nathan’s DJ Residencies:

  • Friday Nights at Hotel Barkley St. Kilda
  • Friday Nights at Ru Co Bar – Grand Hyatt

Nathan has headlined at various bars and clubs around Melbourne including; Seven Nightclub, Room 680, Price of Wales and Roxanne. He has extensive experience in birthday, corporate, wedding and various other types of events. Nathan’s outgoing persona and positive attitude adds a dynamic rarely seem amongst DJ’s and he loves nothing more than passing on his enthusiasm to young budding DJs who have an eagerness to learn.

Music Production Lessons

DJs these days need to be able to do far more than simply mix. A sound understanding of music production and design is fundamental to success. Nathan is proficient in using Ableton live, with a variety of plugins such as Sylenth and the entire Native instruments range. James Thornton began his DJ career at the age of 14 perfecting his skills over the last 9 years. He has performed at almost 1,000 functions ranging from birthdays, bar mitzvah’s, weddings, corporate and school formals all over Melbourne incorporating his passion for music with his outgoing and confident personality to create a positive atmosphere. In addition to teaching all of Pulse DJs Melbourne’s staff he has performed in various nightclubs and bars around Melbourne including; Seven night club, Room 680 and the Hawthorn Hotel. With the knowledge he has acquired over many years of teaching DJ Lessons, James has become a pivotal asset within the industry and for Melbourne DJ School.

His experience includes having supported Timomatic in Priceline Pharmacy’s Christmas party in 2013.James DJ'd with Timomatic
 James’ involvement with Pulse DJs Melbourne has also seen him DJing for various Nova100 events.

Braydon Zirkler

Teaches: DJing, Traktor, Ableton, Ableton Push, Music Production

Braydon is always looking to push electronic music forward and is known for his eclectic musical taste and output. He has outstanding technical knowledge, graduating with diploma in Sound Production in 2012.

Ableton is Braydon’s preferred DAW platform however he has a wealth of knowledge in other digital programs including Logic and Cubase.

After a few minutes behind the decks or producing tunes, it becomes clear that Braydon is nothing short of a genius when it comes to digital music.

His output ranges from music for contemporary dance companies (Fling physical theatre) and music for independent artists. Including work nominated at Neu Festival in Estonia and Dunedin Fridge in NZ to more traditional DJ club/underground parties in Melbourne and Perth.

2015 sees Braydon signed to Tactical Hots music in the UK, continuing to produce contemporary dance scores and preset packs for the ADSR network. He also intends to further develop his love of teaching both DJing and Ableton live/Push through the Melbourne DJ school.

Aaron Porter

Aaron Porter

Teaches: DJing and basic Ableton use including launchpad

Aaron is the youngest member of Melbourne DJ School at just 20 years of age. He brings his 4 years of DJing experience interstate from Western Australia. Having moved to Victoria in 2014, Aaron has emerged and become accustom to the Melbourne music scene. Aaron has a vast range of music knowledge in a variety of genres with a particular interest in electro-house and Melbourne bounce.

In the time that Aaron has been in Victoria, he has gained experience in playing for crowds of 1000+ as well as school formals, engagement parties, birthdays of all ages, silent discos and university events. Aaron has had the opportunity to perform at many club/bar venues across Melbourne including Arcadia Hotel, Billboard the Venue, Colonial Hotel and Wah Wah Lounge.

His approachable teaching style makes learning the art of DJing an enjoyable experience for all ages.

However it’s important to try different pieces of kit in order to develop yourself as a more versatile DJ.
