Payment will be conducted directly through the DJ, so it will depend. Some of our DJs accept cash as payment, others prefer an electronic transfer. It’s important to distinguish this with your teacher before booking your first lesson.
It really depends on how quickly you pick up the concepts and if you have any previous experience.
We strongly recommend that you practice as much as possible at home to get the most out of your tuition.
We recommend that you book an initial lesson, come and see what your DJ has to offer, then commit to an amount of lessons after your first lesson.
There are 3 things to provide when your Melbourne DJ School tutor comes around:
- Table or surface for the DJ Equipment (Trestle table in size)
- Access to 1 powerpoint from the surface provided
- A willingness to learn
It’s that simple!
What to wear?

A pen & paper/laptop is recommended in order for you to take notes while you’re learning.
If you have you’re own headphones feel free to bring these along but they are not essential.
If your late unfortunately that is your own fault and the tutor is only obligated to teach you until the booked time. The same applies to any friends that you bring along with you. There will not be a time extension at the end up of the lesson to account for tardiness. We recommend that you arrive 5 minutes before your lesson starts so that this doesn’t affect you.
Please place an enquiry on our website through the bookings page. We do not take any telephone or email bookings. In order for us to keep our services as cheap as possible we must make the website the primary booking platform.
Your nominated DJ teacher will contact you within 48 hours. If you have not selected a preference for you DJ, we will nominate the most appropriate one for you.
Each DJ’s costs are different, we invite you to have a look at our DJ comparison page to determine the most suitable instructor for you.
You can ultimately decide how much you pay by inviting your friends to join in on the action. We charge by the hour, so if your DJ’s hourly rate is $60 you can divide that cost among your friends and divide the cost amongst you. Every DJ has different preferences on how many people are allowed in each lesson so please confirm that with your teacher before booking. Ensure that you read all the terms and conditions before committing to the purchase though as there are minimum booking hours in some cases.
